That night, the four them drank alcohol in a hotel room, when the sexual assault was said to have occurred. Throughout the entire trial, the four guardsmen have been represented by defense attorney Alan Simpson.

By having an attorney by their side, the four guardsmen have been able to better navigate the legal aftermath of that night. If you find yourself in a similar situation while stationed here at Ft. Bliss, a Ft. Bliss military attorney can help you.

What the Difference Between a Lawyer and a Military Attorney?

What differentiates a military attorney from a civilian lawyer is that they have knowledge and experience in military courts, which can be a lot different from civilian courts. If you are accused of committing a crime that violates the Punitive Articles of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, you may go through a court-martial trial, or a trial in a military court. Because of this, it’s important to work with a Ft. Bliss military attorney if you find yourself facing this kind of trouble.

Sexual Assault in the Military

While the above case may illustrate a pretty strong case against the four guardsmen, this isn’t always the case. Oftentimes, information is misconstrued and people are wrongly accused and convicted. This is also where a Ft. Bliss military attorney can help you. A military attorney will ensure that everything is fought fair and equal and they will help to dispel circumstantial evidence. This way, you’ll know your attorney is actively fighting for you to have a fair trial.
